Enterprise data transformation

Delivery slippage down 30%.

How it was done
Context
High-priority analytics work across BI, Data Engineering, and Cloud Infrastructure needed stronger rhythm and cross-functional clarity, with teams on three continents.
What was done
Installed a sprint-based operating model across enterprise data delivery: a 2-week cadence, governance layers, and roadmap clarity across global teams.
Outcome
Delivery slippage down 30%. 65.6 average sprint velocity against 70+ adjusted capacity. Improved delivery visibility, coordination, and leadership confidence.

Vishnu has been a force multiplier for data, bringing our team into an agile sprint process that reduced stress, improved effectiveness, and brought clarity to high-priority analytics projects. He commits daily, aligns cross-functional teams, and drives execution with focus and energy.

Global program governance

A $2M+ program, held to schedule across US and EMEA.

How it was done
Context
A Data Quality Management program running across US and EMEA stakeholders, with third-party contractors on the critical path.
What was done
Owned execution of the $2M+ program across BI, Engineering, and Product. Structured communication, stakeholder alignment, and delivery rigor across geographies.
Outcome
Contractors held to task and schedule. Coordination across US and EMEA recognized by peer managers.

Vishnu demonstrated exceptional leadership in managing the Data Quality program across global stakeholders. His structured communication, stakeholder alignment, and delivery rigor set a new standard for international program execution.

Lakehouse MVP execution

An MVP made usable, credible, and strategically legible.

How it was done
Context
MVP delivery within a $2M data lakehouse adoption program, with an initial $200K phase supporting Product, Engineering, and GTM. The business needed to validate the environment, test core functionality, and understand how the platform could serve three functions.
What was done
Drove MVP execution: coordinated validation, tested platform functionality, and translated early findings into cross-functional business relevance.
Outcome
Strengthened leadership confidence in the program by making the MVP usable, credible, and strategically legible.

High quality work, Vishnu. Great job. Your work speaks for you, the data team has nothing but good things to say about your work so far.

Humberto AmadorSenior Director, Strategy and Transformation, SolarWinds

Cross-functional playbook design

90+ workflows, 50%+ faster.

How it was done
Context
Embedded teams operating inside enterprise client environments, including Netflix, 3M, and Reckitt, lacked consistent onboarding, handoffs, and repeatable execution standards.
What was done
Redesigned 90+ workflows into practical playbooks with clearer ownership structures and repeatable operating logic, adopted globally.
Outcome
50%+ cycle-time improvement across the measured workflows. Improved onboarding consistency, cross-functional coordination, and execution quality.

This is great work. I'm really happy with it. This is exactly what I was looking for. I like and appreciate the work that has gone into this.

Reporting automation

1,000+ hours of manual work, gone every month.

How it was done
Context
Regional operations reporting across CSAT, utilization, and compliance. 200+ recurring reports, each with a requester, an owner, and a deadline, nearly all manual.
What was done
Started underneath the charts. Inventoried every recurring report against the decision it was supposed to feed. Set escalation triggers so a metric crossing a threshold went to a named owner on a clock instead of into a deck. Merged duplicates, cut anything nobody could tie to a decision. Then automated what survived.
Outcome
1,000+ hours of manual work removed every month. The reports that remained had a job: moving decisions earlier.

Vishnu has done an amazing job at automating these reports. Huge ask and he's delivered in spades.

Phiroze MaroliaChief Operating Officer APAC, OLIVER Agency

The monthly BI reports looked excellent and perfectly captured the team's work. Vishnu built and improved this reporting framework from the ground up.

Contract lifecycle infrastructure

APAC contract visibility, restored.

How it was done
Context
No centralized contract repository across APAC accounts and no reliable way to track expiries across the region.
What was done
Partnered with Salesforce to build a contract module, then designed the operating logic that turned it into a centralized APAC repository with automated expiry tracking and notification workflows.
Outcome
Regional contract visibility restored. Key stakeholders, including the APAC CEO, kept informed on upcoming expiries.

Mate. This is top stuff. You're a legend. Thank you so much, my friend.

Regional operations strategy and execution

Written endorsements from the APAC CEO and COO.

How it was done
Context

Outcome
Exited with written endorsements from the APAC CEO and the APAC COO.

I've learned from you, loved your enthusiasm, and found your judgement and process to be exceptional. I have no doubt you will be superb at whatever is next.

How it was done
Context

Developed strategic insights on GenAI's emerging capabilities, translated them into business implications, and shaped the material for a CXO-level audience.

Questions about the record

Are these The Ops Layer's clients?

No. The testimonials and metrics come from Vishnu's operating roles at SolarWinds and OLIVER Agency, where the operating model behind The Ops Layer was built. The enterprise brands listed were supported through OLIVER's agency work. Client engagements under The Ops Layer are confidential unless the client agrees otherwise.

Can I speak to a reference?

Yes. Executive references are available on request once an engagement is being scoped. Write to vishnu@theopslayer.com.

Why does this matter for a 90-person company?

Because the failure modes are the same at every scale: decisions without owners, handoffs without a definition of done, escalation without thresholds, meetings that produce updates. The enterprise work is where those patterns were fixed under the most pressure. The Ops Layer applies the same discipline where it is cheaper and faster to install.

The same discipline, installed in your company.
